re: suggestion to site management |

Well said, as always, gouche92. I think a reflection on the goals and purpose of this site every now and then is a good thing. We have to remember what this site was, is and will continue to be -- and you have outlined that very well. I might add, in clarification only, and to "cite from scripture", as it were, the following:
"With a slow, controlled growth we tend to get users who want to be here and who have a genuine interest in tracking money." (General Code of Conduct, 5.)
We aren't looking for exponential growth... or even MODERATE growth. We want to restrict the community to those who really want to be here. Please consider that part of that process may actually BE a system of obfuscation and jumping through hoops to get to where we, the money trackers, are. So sayeth The Creator. :)
And that being said... maybe a rapid growth is what you are after... as many have tried (and ultimately failed) to engender at this site. So be it. There's lots of places that encourage that. Here, the stated mandate is that of a fun community of money-trackers. YES, we are excited about our hobby and what it tells us -- but uncontrolled growth is neither wanted nor is it sustainable. Please consider that perspective in this discussion. That is to say, no "solution" may be necessary.
