Just returned from the local branch of the Scotiabank, where I git into quite the conversation about "Marked Bills". She said to me "Why do people do that?"
When I explained to her that I had marked the bills, she was very frustrated with me and stated that it was illegal to 'deface' the money. She said that they take ALL defaced money and put it in a bag and sent it back to the Bank of Canada to be destroyed. That is thier direction.
I explained that it was NOT illegal to marked the bills and she was VERY upset with me.
Soooo... there were 4x $20 bills that are now out of the system.
Makes you mad.
I told her to check the website and that it will explain that it is NOT illegal to mark/stamp the bills.
Unfortunately, after checking, even I can't find the spot where it explains it. Has it been removed? If it is, ADMIN, PLEASE, PLEASE put it back up. If it hasn't been removed, maybe it should be placed BOLDLY in the Home page area
