The Stazon cleaner works very well but should not be used anywhere there is intaglio printing on the Bankote otherwise you will end up removing this security feature and ensuring the destruction of the note in the process.

For example: Portrait, large numeral and raised ink on the front of the Polymer Frontier series. The back of these notes clean up nicely and once dry will allow for remarking.

Be warned though, the 2017 $10 notes have intaglio printing across the centre on the backs of the bills making them much easier to stamp.

If you are prone to over inking or smudging the stamp, avoid placing it in these areas and test it on a piece of paper a few times before marking any banknotes.

Although more costly for the BOC, this is a welcome security feature which will hopefully continue with the new series expected late in 2018, early 2019.
