re: BAD, BAD NOTES! |
From my estimates, the notes I get from BNS are perhaps 10-15% FR condition or worse and should be sent for destruction. Around half would be VG or worse. I don't mark the stuff that should be destroyed, I just enter it and deposit it into a credit union savings account that still uses envelopes in their ATM.
With TD, I'd get a lot of VG notes, but nothing that bad. RBC will not dispense anything lower than a F most of the time. HSBC and Vancity are usually very good as well.
I keep using BNS because their locations are convenient and I've had some sour experiences with the other banks. I guess I'll just keep dealing with their poor note condition.
They also spit out quite a few series 2001-2006 paper notes from time to time, so that's a pro.
Here in Richmond and Vancouver, all the banks and credit unions stock exclusively UNC notes between mid December and late February due to Chinese New Year. Always a good time to max out entry limits for that reason.
