...remoteness.... |
I enjoyed reading the exchanges around POOGA's hit and forum comment.
As I read, it occured to me that "remote" (regarding a destination) is much like a person's age.
Some would argue that I live in a remote part of the country. There's nothing particularily remote about living on the outskirts of Charlottetown...for those of us who live here, at least.
Riviere-Saint-Paul (QC), McCreary (MB), and Beaufort (QC) may seem remote to those living in Saskatoon...but I would guess that Saskatoon is somewhat remote if you live in Calgary...and I'd venture to guess that Calgary seems pretty remote to those living in Toronto and Montreal. In the same way, Montreal and/or Toronto probably seem remote to those in New York City or Paris or Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Forty seemed remote at fifteen...but not so when I turned thirty-nine.
Fellow trackers, have a great day (whether your locale is remote or not)!
