Today started out warm and sunny.

The wet falling snowflakes turned into hard gritty crystals that hurt my face as the wind whipped them madly around in circles.
Pedestrians and joggers could be seen bent forward against the wind and hunkered down to protect their face and eyes.
Shoppers who had parked their car in a nice sunny spot emerged to find it covered with snow in the midst of a raging, horrid blizzard.
